Tribeatlas + AI assistants
Use Tribeatlas from Claude or ChatGPT
Ask about your trip, add plans and check who owes whom, from the AI assistant you already use. You add Tribeatlas once with the address below, sign in, and the assistant can answer from your trips.
Connector URL: https://tribeatlas.app/mcp
What it can do
The assistant uses Tribeatlas only when you ask it something about your trips.
Read
- Your trips: names, destinations, dates and status
- A trip's members and their roles, by display name
- The plan: flights, trains and other transport, hotels and activities (booking references are left out)
- The packing list, yours and the shared one
- Who owes whom, what you owe and are owed, and the trip's total spend
Add or change, when you ask
- Add an activity to the plan as an idea, for the group to decide on (owners and editors)
- Add items to your packing list and tick off what you've packed
- Record a payment you made to another member, which they confirm when the trip asks for confirmation
- Suggest an expense, which waits in the trip until you choose who shares it and save it
- Hand over bookings from a confirmation, which wait in the trip until you or an editor check and save them (owners and editors of Premium trips)
It can't delete or edit anything already in a trip, and it never writes messages to the group.
Step by step
Menu names change from time to time; the links go to each assistant's own help.
Claude
Tribeatlas is in Claude's connector directory, so there's no address to copy. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner allows the connector for the organization first.
- Open Tribeatlas in Claude's directory with the link below, or on claude.ai or in the desktop app open Customize › Connectors and search for Tribeatlas.
- Choose Connect. Tribeatlas opens: sign in, check what Claude asks for and choose Allow.
- In a chat, open + › Connectors and make sure Tribeatlas is on. Then ask about your trip.
ChatGPT
Adding your own connector needs ChatGPT's developer mode, which only some paid plans have, and on some plans it allows only the tools that read. It works on chatgpt.com in a browser.
- On chatgpt.com, open Settings and turn on Developer mode (under Apps, Advanced settings).
- Create a new app: name it Tribeatlas, paste the connector URL and choose OAuth as authentication.
- Tribeatlas opens: sign in, check what ChatGPT asks for and choose Allow.
- In a new chat, pick Tribeatlas from the tools menu (+) and ask about your trip.
Other AI apps
Tribeatlas works in any AI app that lets you add a remote MCP server with sign-in: add the connector URL above and sign in to Tribeatlas when it asks.

Things to ask
Name the trip the first time, or ask which trips you have.
- “Which trips do I have in Tribeatlas?”
- “What's planned tomorrow?”
- “Add dinner at 19:00 on Friday.”
- “Who owes me money for this trip?”
- “What's still missing on our packing list?”
- “I've paid my share to the trip owner. Can you record it?”
Privacy and safety
- Nothing is shared until you sign in to Tribeatlas from the assistant and choose Allow.
- The assistant acts as you, with the same access you have in Tribeatlas: only the trips you belong to, and only what your role there lets you do.
- It sees what you see in those trips, including other members' display names and what's owed between you. It never gets their email addresses, phone numbers or payment details, or your booking references.
- What the assistant reads is handled by its provider (such as Anthropic or OpenAI) under your agreement with them.
- To disconnect, remove Tribeatlas in the assistant's connector settings, or under Profile › Connected apps in Tribeatlas, on the web or in the app, where it loses access at once.
Questions
- Is it free?
- On the Tribeatlas side, yes: reading your trips, adding ideas and packing items, recording payments and suggesting expenses work on the free plan. Handing over bookings and receipt lines needs a Premium trip, as in the app. The AI assistant has its own plans; see the steps above.
- Does it work on my phone?
- With Claude, yes: add the connector on claude.ai or in the desktop app, and it's there in Claude's phone app too. With ChatGPT, OpenAI offers its own connectors on the web only.
- Can the AI see other people's trips?
- No. It signs in as you and gets your access: the trips you're a member of. Trips you're not in stay hidden, as they do in Tribeatlas.
- Can it delete something or message my group?
- No. It can add an idea, a packing item or a payment, tick things off, and leave suggestions that wait until you save them. It can't delete or edit what's already there, and it never posts to the group.
- Which language does it answer in?
- Yours. Tribeatlas gives the assistant the facts, and the assistant answers in the language you write in.
